Alera is the engine we build on.
Agents write, test and ship. One person sets direction. Everything on this site came out of it.
An operating system for agents
Alera breaks software into small, named pieces that agents can find, read and change: tools, agents, workflows, pages, and the documentation that explains each one.
Every piece has an address, a description and a list of what it depends on, all in plain files in git. Agents work inside it the way an engineer works inside a well-kept codebase.
What makes it fast
Agents do the whole job
They read the docs, write the code, run the tests and check the result in a real browser before they call it done.
Nothing gets rebuilt
Every tool and agent can be found by address and description, so the fleet reuses what exists instead of starting over.
It improves itself
The agents that build our projects also maintain Alera. Each fix and new tool makes the next project faster.
Direction stays human
One person decides what to build and what good looks like. The fleet does the rest, in parallel, every day.
Built here, given away
Alera is how we work. The libraries, research notes and tools on this site are what it makes, and the devlog shows what it ships each day.
