Privacy Policy

What we collect, why, who we share it with, how long we keep it, and how to have it deleted. Effective October 18, 2026.

Who we are

This policy covers Recursive AI LLC ("Recursive AI", "we", "us"), an independent software lab in Austin, Texas. It applies to the website at recursiveai.org, to the mobile apps we publish (including on Google Play under the developer name Recursive AI), and to the APIs, tools and other services we run (together, the "Services"). Our open-source libraries run on your own machines, and we receive nothing from them.

To reach us about privacy:

  • Email: [email protected]
  • Phone: (737) 259-5171. Call and leave a voicemail, or send a text, with your name, a number or email address, and your request. We will get back to you.
  • Mail: Recursive AI LLC, Austin, Texas, USA. Write to us for a full mailing address.

The short version

  • We collect only what a feature needs to work.
  • We do not sell personal information, and we do not share it for advertising.
  • We use no advertising SDKs, no cross-app tracking and no third-party analytics.
  • You can ask us to delete your data at any time, and we will do it.

What we collect

Information you give us

  • Email and messages. When you write to us, we receive your email address, your message and anything you attach.
  • Voicemail. When you call our phone number, we receive your phone number (caller ID), the time and length of the call, a recording of any message you leave, and an automatic transcript of it.
  • Text messages. When you text our phone number, we receive your phone number, the time, the message, and any photos or files you attach. We do not send marketing texts.
  • Meeting bookings. When you book a meeting at /book/, we receive your name, email address, optional company and note, and the time you choose.
  • Launch notifications. When you ask to be told when something launches, we receive your email address and the items you selected.
  • In our apps. If an app lets you create an account, send feedback or save content to our servers, we receive what you enter for that purpose (for example an email address, a display name, or the content you choose to sync).

Information collected automatically

  • Website analytics. Our own first-party analytics records the pages you view, the links you click, the referring site, your browser's user agent, and a random visitor ID kept in your browser's local storage. We use no cookies for this. If your browser sends Global Privacy Control or Do Not Track, analytics does not load at all.
  • Server logs. Our servers keep standard request logs (IP address, time, requested address, user agent) to run the Services and keep them secure.
  • App diagnostics. If an app includes crash reporting or diagnostics, it collects technical data such as the device model, operating system version, app version and error details. This data is not used to identify you.

Device permissions

Our apps ask for a device permission (such as the camera, microphone, photos, location or notifications) only when you use the feature that needs it, and they use that permission only for that feature. You can revoke a permission in your device settings at any time. Data an app processes on your device stays on your device unless the feature exists to send it, for example a sync or upload you start.

What each app collects

The Data safety section of each app's Google Play listing describes what that app collects and shares. If an app needs data this policy doesn't describe, we update this policy before that version is released.

How we use it

  • To provide the Services and the features you use, including replying to your messages and voicemails and running the meetings you book.
  • To send messages you asked for, such as booking confirmations, reminders and launch notifications.
  • To understand which pages and features are used, so we can improve them.
  • To keep the Services secure, prevent abuse and fix problems.
  • To meet legal obligations.

We do not use your information for advertising, and we do not use your personal information to train AI models.

Who we share it with

We do not sell or rent personal information. We share it only with the service providers that run parts of the Services for us, only for that purpose, and under their own privacy and security commitments:

  • Twilio provides our phone line, voicemail recording and transcription.
  • Google (Google Calendar and Google Meet) handles meeting scheduling and video calls. Google Play handles app distribution and in-app purchases. We never see your full payment card details.
  • Telegram delivers internal notifications to us, such as an alert with a new voicemail or text message.
  • Our email provider sends and receives our email.
  • AI model providers. If an app feature sends your input to an AI model, it goes to the model provider only to produce your result. The feature tells you before it does this.

We may also disclose information when the law requires it, to protect the rights, safety or property of our users or others, or as part of a merger, acquisition or sale of assets. If that happens, this policy keeps applying to your information.

How long we keep it

  • Voicemails and text messages (recording, transcript, message, attachments, phone number): until we have dealt with the message, and no longer than 12 months.
  • Email: as long as we need it to keep up the conversation and our business records.
  • Meeting bookings: as long as we need them to hold the meeting and keep our business records.
  • Launch notification lists: until the thing launches and we have told you, or until you ask to be removed.
  • App account data: as long as your account is active. We delete it when you delete your account or ask us to.
  • Analytics and server logs: up to 24 months.

We may keep information longer when the law requires it or to resolve a dispute.

Deleting your data

You can ask us to delete your personal information, including an app account and all the data tied to it, at any time. You do not need to install the app to do this. Email [email protected] with the subject "Delete my data", or leave a voicemail or send a text to (737) 259-5171. Tell us the app name and the email address or account the request is about. If an app has an in-app delete option, you can use that too. We confirm the request with you, then delete the data within 30 days. We keep only what the law requires us to keep, and only for as long as it requires.

Your choices and rights

Wherever you live, you can ask us to tell you what personal information we hold about you, to correct it, to delete it, or to give you a copy. You can also unsubscribe from any email we send. Depending on where you live (for example in the European Economic Area, the United Kingdom, California or Texas), local law may give you more rights, such as the right to object to or limit some processing. We honor those rights. To use any of them, contact us as described above. We will not treat you differently for using them. If you are in the EEA or UK, you can also complain to your local data protection authority.

Security

Data travels to and from our Services over encrypted connections (HTTPS/TLS). We limit access to personal information to the people who need it, which today means one person. We store data on systems we control or with the providers listed above. No system is perfectly secure, but we work to protect your information, and if a breach affects you we will tell you as the law requires.

Children

The Services are not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from them. If you think a child has given us personal information, contact us and we will delete it. If an app is designed for children or families, it will follow Google Play's Families policies, and this policy will say so before that app is released.

Where data is processed

We are based in the United States, and we and our providers may process your information there and in other countries. Where the law requires it, we use appropriate safeguards for those transfers.

Changes to this policy

When we change this policy, we update the effective date at the top. If a change is significant, we also tell you in the affected app or on this site before it takes effect.
