Terms of Service

The rules for using our website, apps and services. Effective October 18, 2026.

1. The agreement

These Terms are an agreement between you and Recursive AI LLC ("Recursive AI", "we", "us"), a company based in Austin, Texas. They cover the website at recursiveai.org, the mobile apps we publish (including on Google Play), and our APIs, tools and other services (together, the "Services"). By using the Services, you agree to these Terms and to our Privacy Policy. If you don't agree, don't use the Services. If you use the Services for an organization, you confirm that you can accept these Terms for it.

Some Services have extra terms, such as an API's usage limits or an open-source license. If extra terms conflict with these Terms, the extra terms win for that Service.

2. Who can use the Services

You must be at least 13 years old, and old enough to accept these Terms where you live. If you are under 18, a parent or guardian must agree to these Terms for you.

3. Accounts

Some features may need an account. Give accurate information, keep your login details safe, and tell us if you think someone else has used your account. You are responsible for what happens under your account. You can delete your account at any time, as our Privacy Policy describes.

4. Using our apps and Services

While you follow these Terms, we give you a personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable license to install and use our apps on devices you own or control, and to use the Services. For apps you get from Google Play, Google Play's terms also apply, and Google is not responsible for our apps.

Our open-source software is licensed under the license that comes with it. Nothing in these Terms limits the rights that license gives you.

5. Acceptable use

Do not use the Services to:

  • break the law or violate anyone's rights, including privacy and intellectual property rights;
  • harass, threaten, defraud or harm anyone, or create content that exploits or endangers children;
  • send spam or malware, or try to get into accounts, systems or data you aren't authorized to access;
  • disrupt or overload the Services, or get around rate limits, security or access controls;
  • scrape, copy or resell the Services or their content, except as an open-source license or our published API terms allow;
  • reverse engineer our apps, except where the law allows it.

We may limit, suspend or end your access if you break these rules.

6. Your content

You keep ownership of what you submit to the Services ("Your Content"). You give us a limited license to host, process and display Your Content only as needed to run the Services for you. Make sure you have the right to submit it. We may remove content that breaks these Terms or the law.

If you send us feedback or ideas, we may use them freely and owe you nothing for them.

7. AI-generated output

Some Services use AI models to produce output. That output can be wrong, incomplete or inappropriate, and it may look like content made for other people. Check it before you rely on it, and don't treat it as professional advice (legal, medical, financial or otherwise). You are responsible for how you use it.

8. Purchases and subscriptions

If an app offers paid features, the price and what you get are shown before you buy. Purchases made through Google Play are processed by Google and follow Google Play's payment terms and refund policies. Subscriptions renew automatically until you cancel them. You can cancel in your Google Play account settings, and the subscription stays active until the end of the period you paid for. If the law gives you more rights, nothing here takes them away.

9. Our property

The Services, including our software, design, text, logos and the "Recursive AI" name, belong to us or our licensors and are protected by law. These Terms do not give you any rights in them beyond the license in section 4 and any open-source licenses.

10. Third-party services

The Services may link to or work with services we don't control, such as Google, GitHub, Telegram or AI model providers. Their own terms govern your use of them, and we are not responsible for them.

11. Changes and availability

We are a small lab. We may change, pause or end any Service, and we don't promise that any Service will always be available or free of errors. If we end a paid Service, we will tell you ahead of time and give you any refund the law or Google Play's policies require.

12. Disclaimer

THE SERVICES ARE PROVIDED "AS IS" AND "AS AVAILABLE". TO THE FULLEST EXTENT THE LAW ALLOWS, WE GIVE NO WARRANTIES OF ANY KIND, EXPRESS OR IMPLIED, INCLUDING WARRANTIES OF MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, AND NON-INFRINGEMENT.

13. Limitation of liability

TO THE FULLEST EXTENT THE LAW ALLOWS, RECURSIVE AI IS NOT LIABLE FOR ANY INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES, OR FOR LOST PROFITS, DATA OR GOODWILL, THAT ARISE FROM YOUR USE OF THE SERVICES. OUR TOTAL LIABILITY FOR ANY CLAIM ABOUT THE SERVICES IS LIMITED TO THE GREATER OF THE AMOUNT YOU PAID US FOR THE SERVICES IN THE 12 MONTHS BEFORE THE CLAIM, OR US $50. Some places don't allow some of these limits, so they may not apply to you.

14. Indemnity

If someone brings a claim against us because you broke these Terms or misused the Services, you agree to cover our reasonable costs from that claim, to the extent the law allows.

15. Ending these Terms

You can stop using the Services at any time. We may suspend or end your access if you break these Terms, or if we must do so to protect the Services or follow the law. Sections 6 through 9 and 12 through 17 survive after these Terms end.

16. Governing law and disputes

Texas law governs these Terms, without regard to its conflict-of-law rules. Disputes go to the state or federal courts in Travis County, Texas, and both sides agree to those courts' jurisdiction. If you are a consumer, you also keep any protections and any right to sue locally that the law where you live gives you. Before filing a claim, please contact us first so we can try to resolve it informally.

17. General

We may update these Terms. When we do, we change the effective date at the top. If a change is significant, we tell you in the affected app or on this site before it takes effect. If you keep using the Services after a change takes effect, you accept the updated Terms. If any part of these Terms can't be enforced, the rest still applies. If we don't enforce a right right away, we haven't given it up. You may not transfer these Terms without our consent. We may transfer them as part of a merger, acquisition or sale of assets. These Terms, together with any extra terms in section 1, are the whole agreement between you and us about the Services.
